Warranty

Your 20 Year Warranty covers workmanship by FWD Construction. This warranty applies only to the original homeowner and cannot be transferred. 

Materials will be covered under their respective manufacturer warranties, noting that coverage applies only to those materials that actually have such warranties. Manufacturer warranties include Trex, Timbertech, and Deckorators products. For more details, please speak with one of our sales representatives.

What Is Covered

• Faults in Craftsmanship – This Warranty covers improper fabrication or installation in the construction and installation of your deck. In such cases, we commit to replacing the affected components free of charge.

• Helical pier installation - (Techno Metal Posts).

What is Excluded

FWD Construction LLC disclaims all other warranties not explicitly stated above, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. 

• This Warranty does not cover materials, which would be covered under manufacturer warranty. 

• This Warranty does not cover damage due to normal wear and tear, damage caused by the homeowner or a third party, defects in materials covered by a separate manufacturer’s warranty, damage caused by misuse, alterations, improper maintenance, abuse, settlement, or acts of God. 

• This Warranty does not include damage due to changes in soil or terrain conditions or by placing soil or other materials against the deck. 

• This Warranty does not cover natural occurrences in the aging of wood like cupping, warping, checking, knot presence, and splitting. 

• This Warranty does not cover quality-related imperfections such as knots, holes, wane, and splits typical for the chosen grade of wood. 

• This Warranty does not cover decks we resurface and any decks not built from the ground up. 

• This Warranty does not cover any decks with substructures closer than 6 inches to the ground.

Remedies Under Warranty

During the warranty period, FWD Construction LLC will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any defect covered by this Warranty. This is the sole and exclusive remedy under this Warranty. FWD Construction LLC is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from a breach of this Warranty.

Warranty Requirements

To qualify for this warranty service, the original homeowner must do the following:

• Notify FWD Construction LLC in writing within 30 days of discovering a defect.

• Provide a copy of the purchase agreement and this Warranty document.

• Permit FWD Construction LLC to inspect the deck at a mutually convenient time.
